Accommodation Details

The Yesteryear Cottages has four cottage rentals on 100 foot shared lake frontage on the South End of South Lake Leelanau approximately 9 miles from Traverse City, Michigan in the Northern Lower Peninsula. (East side-beautiful sunsets). The grass goes to the waters edge, the water has a nice sandy bottom and gradual depth.

1 day bed in living room

The cottages are equipped with full kitchens, dishes, pots, etc.. including microwaves, coffeemakers, toasters, and toaster ovens, as well as an outside charcoal grill. Cable TV with DVD players included. There is one bathroom in each cottage with a shower stall. Please bring your own linens and towels. A small row boat is supplied with each cottage. Renters may bring their own boat and anchor to a buoy located in front of the cottages. We can only accommodate the maximum persons listed. Deposits required to hold cottage.

The lakefront property has a dock, barbecue grill, picnic table, and fire pit.

No pets. Smoking is OK. The house is not handicapped accessible.

Surroundings

The cottages are located on a peaceful road (dead end) close to Traverse City with all the city activities but yet in the quiet country of Leelanau County. There are 3 cottages along the front of the property on the lake: The Yesteryear Cottage, The Wee Won Cottage and sitting back is the Snug Inn Cottage. The Kozy Korner Cottage sits on the back of the lot and has lake access. The cottages are located at 6905 E. Birch Point Rd. which is a dead end road. There are other cottages along the lake. On the other side of the road is woods and no homes.

Water recreation includes swimming, fishing, and water skiing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, tennis, and bicycling.

Lake Leelanau consists of the South Lake (5,300 acres with est depths of 60 ft) connected to North Lake Leelanau (3,000 acres with est depths of 120 ft). At the narrows, where the town of Lake Leelanau is located, you can travel by boat between the South and North Lake. Fish include Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Walleyes, Bluegills, Perch, Rock Bass in South Lake Leelanau. Browns, Rainbow, Whitefish, Walleye in North Lake Leelanau (some migrate thru the narrows to the South lake).
